Terms of use
Last updated 3 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Stall ("Stall", "we", "us"), which runs the Stall marketplace website and app. Please read them with our Buyer protection & rules and Privacy policy, which form part of these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Stall.
1. Who can use Stall
Stall is for current students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria and for businesses that serve students on or near a campus. You must be at least 16 years old; if you are under 18 you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission. You must give true details and keep them up to date. One person may have one account.
2. Your account
Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done with your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
3. What Stall does
Stall is a marketplace. Sellers (students and vendors) sell to buyers; Stall is not the seller and does not own, inspect in person or guarantee the items listed. The contract for each sale is between the buyer and the seller. We provide the platform, check listings and payments, issue release codes, and help resolve disputes as described in our rules.
4. Listings
Sellers must own what they sell, describe it truthfully with real photos, set honest prices and stock counts, and follow the list of prohibited items. We may check, hold, edit the category of, or remove any listing, including through automated checks, and may refuse listings at our discretion.
5. Orders and payment
Prices are in Nigerian naira. Buyers pay using the method shown at checkout. A payment is only complete when Stall confirms it. A buyer must give the seller their release code only after receiving the item; once the seller enters it, the order is treated as delivered. Payments made outside Stall are not covered by our buyer protection.
6. Fees
Listing single items is free. We charge for optional services such as opening a store, featuring a listing or store, increasing a store's reach and the verified-seller badge, at the prices shown in the app before you pay. When a buyer pays for an order, the payment is held by Stall through our payment provider (Paystack) until the order is released: when the seller enters the buyer's release code, when the buyer confirms they have the item, 30 minutes after the seller marks the order handed over if the buyer hasn't reported a problem, or 24 hours after the seller marks it on the way or ready for pickup if the buyer hasn't reported a problem. By paying for an order, the buyer agrees to Stall holding the payment on these terms; by listing an item, the seller agrees to be paid on these terms. We then send the seller the order total minus our sale fee of 5% of the item price (at least ₦150 and never more than ₦2,000, or half the item price if that is less; delivery fees go to the seller in full). If the buyer or the seller reports a problem before release, the money stays on hold until it is decided, and we may refund the buyer in full. If a seller cancels a paid order, or doesn't move it on within 24 hours, the buyer is refunded. A buyer may cancel and be refunded until the seller marks the order packed. We pay the payment provider's own charges out of our fee. We may waive our fee as a promotion, for example on a seller's first sales; the app shows when this applies.
Invite rewards and Stall credit. If someone joins with your invite link and completes their first order of ₦2,000 or more, you may both receive Stall credit of the amount shown in the app, up to a monthly limit. Credit can only pay part of Stall's own services (featuring and store reach), has no cash value, can't be transferred or withdrawn, and may be removed if we find invites were faked (for example, inviting yourself or placing fake orders). We may change or end the reward at any time; credit already earned stays usable.
6A. Collections
A verified student (the "collector") can use Stall to collect money from a group, for example class dues, handout fees, church or hostel contributions or event fees. Each payment goes directly to the collector's verified bank account through our payment provider; Stall does not hold it. The payer pays the amount set by the collector plus a service charge shown before paying, which covers the payment provider's charges and Stall's fee. Stall is not a party to the arrangement between a collector and the people who pay, does not check who is entitled to collect for a group, and is not responsible for how the money is used. Only pay into a collection if you know who is collecting. Questions about what a collection covers, or refunds, are for the collector. Collections can be reported in the app and may be closed or removed if misused.
7. Delivery
Buyers can always collect items from the seller. Sellers may also offer delivery for a fee they set, which the buyer pays with the order and which goes to the seller in full (Stall's sale fee is charged on the item price only). The seller is responsible for getting the item to the buyer as described, and keeps the buyer updated in the app. The buyer gives the seller their release code only once they have the item.
8. Problems and disputes
The handover is final. The buyer should check the item before giving the release code; giving the code, or confirming in the app, means the buyer accepts the item, and Stall's role in that order ends there. Before that, either the buyer or the seller can report a problem in the app. The other side has 4 hours to accept it or respond; if they don't, the report is decided for the side that made it. Otherwise we look at information from both sides and decide in good faith. The same rules apply to buyers and sellers, including strikes for late cancellations, no-shows, not sending in time and problem reports that are lost or not answered, as set out in our rules. Accounts with repeated strikes may be paused. We may suspend accounts, remove listings, ask a seller to refund or replace an item, and share information with the other party, the school or law enforcement where needed. Our decision on the platform does not stop you from taking other legal action.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You give Stall a free, worldwide licence to host, display, resize and promote them in connection with Stall. Don't post anything you don't have the right to use.
10. Things you must not do
- Break the law, our rules, or anyone's rights
- Harass, threaten, scam or mislead anyone
- Ask buyers to pay outside Stall, or ask for release codes early
- Create fake accounts, reviews or orders, or misuse another person's identity or bank account
- Interfere with, copy, scrape, overload or try to break into Stall
11. Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, sometimes without notice. You may stop using Stall at any time and ask us to delete your account.
12. Disclaimers and limits
Stall is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it safe and available but can't promise it will always be error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of items, or for losses caused by users, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid Stall in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll show the new date at the top and tell you in the app about important changes. Using Stall after changes means you accept them.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
